Best Trails To Snowmobile In Saskatchewan

If you’re looking for some amazing snowmobile trails to ride along in the winter, you’re not alone. Snowmobiling is one of the most popular winter sports in Canada, and luckily, there are plenty of great trail systems all around Saskatchewan for enthusiastic snowmobilers to enjoy. Here are some of our favourite snowmobile trails in Saskatchewan, from Yorkton to Prince Albert.

Weyakwin Lake Trails

Just above Prince Albert National Park, one of the best snowmobile trails available extends from McKay to the southern reaches of Montreal Lake. While you’ll need to remember to bring food and fuel, you’ll love viewing the incredible winter scenery from atop your snowmobile or from one of the trail system’s four shelters.

Lakeland Tree Dodgers Trails

While the area is known for its soft sands and crystal-clear waters in the summer, Candle Lake becomes one of the best snowmobiling destinations in northeast Saskatchewan once the winter snow falls. You can enjoy over 360km of groomed trails through the beautiful boreal forests surrounding the area, spanning from Christopher Lake to Prince Albert. Best of all, these trails offer access to 13 warm-up shelters, and you can easily find trail maps at convenience and sports stores nearby.

Hudson Bay Trails

If the offerings at Candle Lake didn’t catch your eye, you’re sure to love the mixed terrain trails at Hudson Bay. The groomed trails offer incredible access to a variety of beautiful areas throughout and nearby the Porcupine Forest, including the Wildcat Hill Provincial Wilderness Park, Big Valley Lake, and Saginas Lake. If you’re a fan of ice fishing, you’ll love making a stop at the Neely Lake shelter and fishing the waters to your heart’s content.

Meadow Lake Trails

If you’re envisioning a beautiful winter wonderland to snowmobile through, you’ll find it with a visit to the pristine Meadow Lake Provincial Park. According to the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association, the trails extend north and south of Meadow Lake from Cold Lake to the larger area between Prince Albert National Park and North Battleford. As you snowmobile through the area, you can enjoy readily available amenities like food, fuel, and shelter.
